息吹きを架ける / Encourage someone to breathe

この作品は布を糸で縛ってできた手絞りの群集を使って、広島の街と人々を俯瞰した視点で制作をしました。広島市内は川が６つ流れており、大小合わせて2897橋が架かっています。広島で生活するためにはなくてはならない生命線です。複雑に掛け合った木材を橋に見立て、その上で人々は繋がりながら流動的に広がっていく様を渦巻く形に込めました。

This work was created from a bird's eye view of the city and people of Hiroshima, using a hand-drawn crowd made of cloth bound with thread. Hiroshima city has six rivers flowing through it and 2897 bridges, both large and small. They are an indispensable lifeline for life in Hiroshima. The intricately interlocked timbers are used as bridges, and the swirling shape of the bridges shows how people are connected to each other and spread out fluidly over the bridges.
